How to prepare 

If you have an active coldsores we will be unable to treat.  If you are prone to coldsores please get in touch to discuss your options.

Please avoid alcohol for 48 hours prior to treatment. (alcohol thins the blood which would increase the risk of bleeding and bruising)

​

Please do not take Aspirin or Ibuprofen for 24 hours prior to your appointment unless prescribed by your doctor.  Please discuss with your Nurse in more detail (these are blood thinners and would increase the risk of bleeding and bruising)

We will apply  topical local anaesthetic cream to numb the area before treatment.

Aftercare 

Directly post treatment:

  • Avoid all makeup, particularly makeup brushes and sponges, foundation and any lipstick or lip glosses, this is to prevent infection.

  • Apply a cold compress a few hours post treatment to reduce swelling.

  • Keep hydrated, drink lots of water.

  • Take 2 paracetamol prior to going to bed (if no allergies to it).

  • Avoid exercise for 48 hours

  • Avoid alcohol.

  • Antihistamines can help reduce swelling if it persists.

Next 14 days

  • It takes 2-4 weeks for the fillers to fully integrate into the lip tissue. 

Post treatment please avoid:

Sunbeds, even with the facial tanners turned off  and your lips covered DO NOT USE THEM!

  • Saunas, steam rooms, hot tubs and steamy bathrooms.

  • Lying in direct sunlight/heat.

  • Hot drinks, allow to cool for 10 minutes.
