Make-up should not be worn for 12 hours.

We advise avoiding alcohol and vigorous exercise for 48 hours.

Avoid sun bathing, and extremes of heat or cold for 14 days post treatment.

Any bruising may take a few days to appear, arnica can be helpful in clearing bruising.

It is advisable to avoid aspirin and alcohol for 12-48 hours after treatment.

It helps with deeply hydrating the skin, improving the firmness, fine lines and pore size. It also slows down ageing, gives a gentle lift and incredible glow to your face.

We inject Profhilo in specific areas of the face (it cannot be used on the forehead or under the eyes) which are called the BAP points. This stands for Bio Aesthetic Points which have been specifically researched and chosen for the areas that will give the maximum results and safety. Once injected it slowly spreads under the skin over a period of 1-2 days and stimulates the production of your own collagen and elastin. The actual hyaluronic acid chains disappear after a few weeks so the main effect is by stimulating your own collagen.

The most common areas of treatment are the face and neck, however, can also be performed on décolletage/cleavage/lower neck, chest, hands, arms, knees, and feet.

Initially you’ll need 2 sessions around 4 weeks apart. There are 10 injections across both sides of your face (or whichever area you are treating).

You’ll be left with small bumps which can take a day or two to settle.

The ones on the higher sides of your face take a bit longer to settle but are easy to hide with hair. The ones on the lower cheeks and chin settle very quickly for most patients.

Profhilo is a very safe treatment but also procedures carry a small amount of risk of bruising and infection. A small number of patients experience temporary facial swelling which subsides in a week or two. As with all treatments, it is important to follow the aftercare.

Results last 6-9 months. We recommend a single session to top up every 3-6 months depending on the degree of skin laxity.

It is different to fillers as it does not volumise the face at all. We often use it in combination with fillers as it is important your skin matches the volume in your face.

If there is good volume but you have loose skin, it does not appear natural.

The needles we use for Profhilo are very small and superficial. As the product goes into the skin you may feel a burning sensation. Numbing cream usually does not help much with the discomfort as it is mainly from the product spreading under the skin.

However, the procedure lasts around 5 minutes and most patients tolerate it well.
