Wrinkles
Fine lines and wrinkles can start appearing from your 20s, especially if you have had significant sun exposure. The most common areas to first notice wrinkles are the horizontal lines on the forehead, the vertical lines between your eyebrows in the glabella area and those around your eyes. You may also start noticing wrinkles around your lower face and cheek area and increasing prominence of the nose to mouth lines.
WHY DOES IT HAPPEN?
The main cause for wrinkles is UV or sun damage. Using a sunscreen every day (even when it’s cloudy!) is the most helpful thing you can do is to prevent wrinkle this will slow down the ageing process. If you have lighter skin you’ll have less inbuilt protection from UV damage in the form of melanin, so are more prone to getting wrinkles at an earlier age.
UV damage not only causes the fine lines on your upper face; it also contributes to volume loss and change in texture/ loss of elasticity of the skin. Keeping stress at bay and maintaining a healthy diet, including limiting alcohol, will also help slow down the formation of wrinkles.
We recommend a combination of Botox, skin boosters and fillers depending on the extent of your wrinkles. A good skincare routine, using medical grade ingredients such as Retinol, (we recommend Dermatica from personal experience. ) will also help.
Botox
Botulinum Toxin (Botox) is an extremely effective treatment at softening and in many cases completely erasing lines in the face, including upper face wrinkles in the forehead, glabella lines and crows feet.
PROFHILO
If the issue is mainly skin laxity then Profhilo on the face and neck can tighten the skin and help. You can do this in combination with other treatments..
